ABOUT ME

I am a child, adolescent and family psychotherapist working in the Cheltenham, Gloucester and Stroud areas.

I have 28 years of experience of working with children and young people, within schools as a teacher and in drama/music facilitation before training as a psychotherapist.

My psychotherapy work involves children and young people with a range of different issues and needs, including anxiety, depression, and trauma such as abuse, bereavement or separation/divorce. I also work with children who have had a diagnosis of being on the autistic spectrum (ASC) or ADHD. I have experience of assessment and consultation with a view to finding appropriate therapeutic pathways, working in schools and in private practice to support children, parents and staff, to get the best outcomes for children and young people.

My child and adolescent psychotherapy training with the Tavistock and Portman NHS trust is primarily psychodynamic, but I also have experience and training in using CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Systemic and Mindfulness approaches in my work with all ages of children and young people, including in groups. These multiple perspectives enable me to tailor my approach to the needs of the particular client and family.

As a British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) registered psychodynamic psychotherapist I am committed to my own on-going Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and to the Ethical code of my professional body.

I have an up-to-date CRB and I am a trained Safeguarding Lead.
